Wings of Faith with DecoArt Products

Enjoyed some relaxation in my studio this afternoon.
This is a 5x7 flat canvas.

The background was made by dipping the canvas in a shaving cream mixture and allowed it to dry.
I dropped purple and blue and swirled it around the shaving cream.
I used Deco Art gesso to block in where I wanted the flowers and butterfly to go.  I added the colors on top once it was dry.  Once done, I used a stencil to add the word faith at the top.
Deco Art Media Fluid Acrylics I used:
Hansa Yellow, Yellow Oxide, Cadium Red Hue, Green Yellow Light, Carbon Black, Viridian.

Mixed Media Shadow Box Canvas with DecoArt

Two posts in one day!! I just had to share with you this awesome shadowbox picture I made with the backside of a 11x14 canvas and DecoArt products.

I started the beginning of the canvas by using a brick wall stencil and DecoArt Modeling Paste. Allow it to dry really well.  Then apply two coats of DA Gesso. Allow to dry overnight.,

Then I used DA Misters.  Yellow first.  Then I needed brown.  They don't have a brown-so I made one!!  That's right-I poured some Orange out of the bottle and added some Primary Cyan and Red -shook the bottle up well and viola' I had brown!!

The misters have a lot of pigment in them-so keep a water bottle handy to spray them immediately so they'll run and spread.  I kept layering until I achieved the color I wanted.
Then I decided I'd add some Metallic Lustre to the inside. Lavish Green, Iced Espresso & Cosmic Blue.  Talk about shimmer!!
I used the Cosmic Blue, Majestic Purple and Champagne Ice to the butterflies (after coating them with gesso) Talk about beautiful!!!

Added some Designer paper from KaiserCraft, mulberry flowers from Wild Orchid Flowers, some lace and twill from my stash.  This photo really does do it justice!!  It's gorgeous!!

Christmas Blessings to YOU!

Wow! it's been over a month since I've posted!!
I have been crazy busy.  I guess we all are.

This week I've gotten back to my roots-doing some card making. Relaxing and fun!

With Christmas almost here-I get to use all sorts of combinations-traditional and nontraditional.

My first card is using die cuts. Spellbinders Oval and Tim Holtz Snowman.

This next one uses my beautiful Poinsettia die and my cricut sentiment. (NO stamping!!)

My greens and joy sentiment are from my cricut. LOVE the wood embossing folder from Stampin Up. I did cut them in "planks" and attach them to my white background piece. Vintage photo was rubbed on the folder before I put my plain tan cardstock in.

To get the shimmer and shine I used DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Emerald and gold.

                                               I'm entering the following challenges:
                                               Simon Says: Die Crazy
Craft Stamper Magazine: stamping on the first card-snowman
                                               Word Art Wednesday: anything goes

I hope you and your family have a BLESSED CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
