Rejoice!

Mark's Finest Paper & Stamps sketch with a twist and Simple Salutations challenges

First up is Sketch with a twist.  I've used two tree stamps from their stamp collections and colored with colored pencil-several layers to show depth.  Then highlighted with glitter glue.  The Winter Wishes is from their Christmas stamp set as well.

This next one is for the Simple Salutations challenge.

I've used their Poinsettia stamp set and cut holly leaves with my cricut cartridge.  The paper is from SU.  The poinsettia is colored with several layers of colored pencil. For final dazzle I added red berries with glitter glue.  Turned out really nice.

I just love making Christmas cards!  I hope you'll check out the challenges over at
MFP Speedy TV  You'll find loads of inspiration.

It was a pleasure being their guest designer this month.

Fabulous Folds

This week at Stamp N Doodle the challenge is fabulous folds.
I searched the Splitcoast Stampers site and found this recessed window.
I knew it would be perfect for my lovely couple.
I used SU designer paper and card stock and just followed the directions.
I added the line of pearls from Wild Orchid Flowers. Cut my flowers from my Tim Holtz die and spritzed with glitter spray  and shaped them. Added tiny pearls for the centers.
My sentiment is also from SU and punched with their label punch.
Turned out adorable!
Hope you visit our Stamp N Doodle Blog and see the other fabulous folds our designers have created!

Sketch With A Twist #21-Win Stamp Set

How'd you like to win a beautiful stamp set?
Click on over to MFP Speedy TV and enter this week's challenge on Sketch with a Twist.

Their stamp set are one of a kind and such good quality.  I love using them.
My background paper is from Lost and Found.  I stamped the Christmas tree on the cardstock and again on a plain white piece of paper using black stazon.  That way when I popped up the tree it still shows a tiny bit of the outline on the paper.
After coloring my trees with COLOURSOFT PENCILS - by Derwent.  I then took a paint brush and brushed some white opaque staz-on ink on the edges and sprinkled with glitter.  Turned out beautiful!

I made my own embellishments: punched two different sizes from the same paper line, stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set. Stamped the tiny snowflake and punched it and glued in the middle of JOY.

My "stars" are actually the largest snowflake  stamped on vellum with the white opaque ink and then I sprinkled with glitter.

I LOVE this card and the stamp set.  I hope you'll join our challenge for a chance to win and so I can see your card!

Craft Show Booth

Wanted to share some photos of my booth  before it opened on Saturday.
I used 3 card tables and 1 oblong table. thankfully they all were the same height.
I had Lots of cards, tags, altered mini comp books and large ones.
Mini albums, multi media canvas and altered framed pictures.
altered box and one altered plate.
Here's a close up of one of my first sells of the day.  Paper pierced pieces on top of spray misted canvas.
This Cinderella punch out paper was from Stampin Up. I painted my background and this mod podged my pieces on.
My newest technique with spray inks and stencils. Turned out great!

Saturday night I whipped this 6x22 inch stand up for pictures.  I love the design and will be making more.  It was my first sale on Sunday!
I had a blast all weekend seeing old friends and making new ones.  Selling my works of art was so rewarding!  Thanks to everyone who came out and visited or bought from me!!

Country Christmas @ MFP Speedy TV

I'm guest designing at MFP Speedy TV this month.
It was a priviledge as they have some great stamp sets.  The quality of them is superb.
They have 5 different challenges each week.  One for each day of the week.
How fun is that?

Sketch with a Twist hosted by Karen Letchworth
is a Wednesday challenge.
This week the twist was to use an animal on the card.
I've featured the Wild West Stamp set & made it into a Christmas card.
Just goes to prove -you can use anything with Christmas paper and it turns out great!
I really love this stamp set. The details of the horse is really nice.  I just colored him with a couple of shades of brown and layered him on paper.
This is the inside of my card.  I started with a decorative square from spell binders and cut 2 sides off to make this middle section.  The cute bird and snowflake are from Stampin Up.

My second card is for the Simple Salutations challenge.  Mountains and a Sentiment were the requirements.  Again I used a stamp from the Wild West set.  I love how it turned out as a Christmas Card.  Reminds me of a Country Christmas.

I hope you'll join us for one -or all five challenges!  Here's where you go: http://mfpspeedytv.ning.com/

Just click on CHALLENGES-I know you'll find something you'll like!

Stamp N Doodle Photo Inspiration

Stamp N Doodle has a inspiration photo for the challenge this week

My girl catching snowflakes was perfect for this challenge.
You can get the images we use  yourself.
You could win some if you enter our challenges
or buy them yourself @http://www.stamp-n-doodle.com/

I started the canvas with some spray mists and paper towels.  Dabbing until I had the right background I wanted.  I punched snowflakes from different colored designer paper and put matching glitter glue down the middle of them.  Once dry I used mod podge to adhere them to the canvas.  As a final touch I added gem stones for more sparkle & shine.

My digi image was colored with pencils.  I embossed the snowflakes with irridescent ice (although the silver glitter glue might have worked as well)  I backed her on navy paper and mod podged her down.

She turned our awesome.  I did finish the sides so she's ready to hang!

Be sure and check out my fellow designers as they have done an amazing job this week from the inspiration photo.  You can find them and the rules for entering @ http://stamp-n-doodle.blogspot.com/

Have a blessed day!

WAW#54 Anything Goes!

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #54 ANYTHING GOES

The leaves and acorn and the frame were cut from dies. Then I folded the leaves to make creases where the veins go & distressed with Tim Holtz ink.  This scripture is really perfect for this time of year when we're thinking about what we're thankful for.

Our Lord makes everything alright! Trusting Him has made my life so much better.  I love to sing praise and thanks to Him!

Please join us this week @ http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com/
See what my other design team has created.

Let's be counting our blessings!

PSC56 and a happy accident

This week at Perfect Sentiments we're using our scraps!
I have TONS of scraps like everyone else.  Every piece on this card was already on my desk.
Even the birdcage die cut!
The burgundy strip is a left over on a Graphic45 project I made.  The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of thin cardboard -I then stained it with distress ink.  I stamped the sentiment and covered with black embossing powder-the whole thing was stuck with powder (I didn't let it dry good) so I just went with it. Turned around when that dried and embossed the sentiment in cherry cobbler. Turned out pretty cool!

Pocket Page Mini Album

Each page is made in the pocket page style.  I saw the tutorial from Laura @ Follow the Paper Trail.
I printed the saying on my computer and cut out with a spellbinder die.  The paper is from Lost and Found.
I added images from Nice Crane Designs.  They added a vintage feel to my album.
The flowers on the front are from Wild Orchid flowers.

Hope you're inspired to make a mini album.  They are so fun to give as presents.  A great way to store your photos.

Have a great evening!

Altered Box for Christmas

I started a healthy diet program.  My food comes in 4x6 boxes.  Since I have a couple of craft shows coming up, I decided to alter one of them and see how it turned out.

I used Lost and Found paper.
The beautiful lace is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I added a 3x3 envelope on the front with a tag in it. Thought someone might want to use this for a gift box.  Could put a little note in there.

Here's the top of the box.  The image is from NICE CRANE DESIGNS. The tiny red and white rose buds and the skeleton leaves (which you can't see) are from WILD ORCHID FLOWERS.

I totally love how it turned out.  Hope it inspires you to alter something that would have been thrown away.

Give Thanks @ WAW

This week at Word Art Wednesday, our verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:18. In everything give thanks. Boy, that's asking a lot. Good times & bad times-give thanks.  When I'm dealing with an irritate customer-it's hard to be thankful.
Even in the disaster the northeast has went thru-we need to give thanks.  There are probably lots of situations-bad situations that we don't even know about. It's hard to be thankful at times like that.

One thing I have learned, God provides solutions. Always. He always handles my troubles an trials.
The God we serve is so awesome & we can trust his love for us.

Visit our blog @ www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com and enter.
I loved altering the plate with some Graphic 45 paper and our word art.
